Old Red Trail dedicated at Mandan Parade. The Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway will be dedicated Saturday, July 4th during a ribbon cutting at the Art in the Park in Mandan at about 12:30 p.m. (or when the Mandan Independence Day parade ends.) The Mandan Independence Day parade has partnered with the Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway and has designated the 2009 parade with the theme "Riding the Old Red Trail." To support the theme, organizers of the Scenic Byway and the annual Independence Day parade are inviting all classic car clubs and their members to celebrate the grand opening of the Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway by taking part in the ribbon cutting and then spend the afternoon of July 4th driving the newly dedicated byway. Parade organizers will waive the registration fee to all classic car owners taking part in the event. Participants can register free of charge here. All classic cars will be staged on the Mandan strip near the parade staging area. After the last parade entry departs the staging area, the classic cars will proceed down the parade route. They will be asked to stop at Art in the Park to participate in a brief ribbon cutting ceremony. Communities along the scenic byway will also hold their own celebration. Planning and coordination with these communities is still underway. The Old Red Old Ten scenic Byway extends from Mandan's Main Street to Dickinson's Villard Street.
