Summer Updates

06/20/17

Happy Belated Father’s Day!!!!!  I do hope that all fathers had a wonderful day and families gathered together to celebrate and share the present days as well as the memories of past days.  I remember my brother saying a few years ago that one of his favorite times was going to the hill north of the family farm and just sitting and looking at the wide expanse of land.  What beautiful landscapes we have in central North Dakota.  The areas along the OLD RED TRAIL had a couple little showers of rain this past week.  We really do need a soaker, but maybe it will still come.  Let’s hope and pray for rain.

The summer will be full of activities and festivals.  Next week I will list many of the activities that will be happening in the towns along the OLD RED TRAIL.

The Muddy River Coffee House in New Salem has a new owner, Rachael Bucholz.  She is a vibrant young gal and she and her three children have moved to New Salem from Bismarck.  It is a welcoming, warm, and Christian coffee house for family and friends.  In the morning she specializes in all coffees, scones, muffins, and cupcakes.  And on Saturday it is caramel roll day.   (Yeah)   For lunch there are various cold sandwiches and a hot lunch special.  You can call or look on the Coffee House Facebook page for the hot special of the day.  Phone number is 843-7200.  She plans well and her objective is to have fresh, good quality homemade food.  The Coffee House is an ideal space for small parties and Rachael will do catering, and special orders for caramel rolls and cupcakes.  The phone number is 701-843-7200.  And the current hours are Tuesday – Friday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM: Saturday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM:  And closed on Sunday and Monday.  How about a trip to New Salem and visit the Muddy River Coffee House on Main Street?  You will not be disappointed.

And speaking of Coffee Houses, also plan to stop in Hebron at the Dark Side of the Brew for some special coffee, rolls, and pastries.  The pastries are delicious - - - I can attest to that - - - The Brew is located on Main Street.

Driving the OLD RED TRAIL is fascinating and beautiful;   Until next time, Be Well, Do Good Works, and see you on the OLD RED TRAIL.
