Old Red Old Ten North Dakota Scenic Byway | Cities

The Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway travels through ten communities that include Mandan, Almont, Sims, New Salem, Glen Ullin, Hebron, Richardton, Taylor, Gladstone and Dickinson.  Travel along next to Interstate 94, while taking time to visit and explore the unique shops, restaurants, historical sites and prairie landscape.

County Seat Controversy

In the spring of 1883, much to the consternation of the citizens of Gladstone, the city of Dickinson was selected as county seat and to be the terminal point of the Northern Pacific.

First Roller Mill

Robert Lee built the first Roller Mill west of the Missouri River in 1885 in Gladstone.

Old Stage Coach Line

Established in 1878, the Fort Keogh Mail & Freight Route traveled from Bismarck, ND to Ft. Keogh near Miles City, MT and continued until 1882.
